Soul Calibur 4: online mode sucks

Excited about Soul Calibut 4 to play online? Well, don’t be, it totally sucks.
Trying to find someone to play with doesn’t work like 95% of the times. Even if you find rooms with slots and people waiting, it doesn’t work. You get errors like “the game session is full”, “connection timed out” (after 2 seconds!), “connection lost with the host” (when you finally find someone and try to start a match), some random network errors, and when you make your own session waiting for other players, you will often get this error “An error has occurred. You have been signed out of PLAYSTATION NETWORK.”. At this point, you can’t log back in to PSN, the only fix is turning off/back on your PS3.
And after struggling for a while, when you finally get into a match, you gotta play the time machine game, as in, do your moves 1-2 seconds in advance, since even with a decent connection and green bars the game lags like shit.
Shame on Namco and Sony. I bought this game exclusively to play Online (story mode is a fucking joke and normal vs is way better in soul calibur 3)
yes online mode is horrible. my stats erase and return every 2 or three turns and some times i dosent come back for days!
I have exactly the fu***cking problem, i have almost one week with this stupid game and i cant play online, and theres no answer for this im seriously thinking about return this game back to the store i f i cant play online in the next two days.
It has been 2 months now since release and this hasn’t improved at all.
I tried playing last night and it was either horrible lag (two seconds of lag in between button command and the system responding) or REALLY long load times when loading a match (at least 30-40 seconds of “Communicating…” in the bottom-right corner of the screen). It’s been almost six months since SC4 was released and the online capabilities still suck balls.
I soooooo agree with you. I hated the online mode. I had no problems with finding a player or stuff like that but the delay on the buttons is AWFUL!!!! I just hate it. And i hate the “Tower of lost souls” campiagn, Namco made it nearly imposible to beat (I already did it but it was really fucking hard).
Some people say that SC3 sucked… Are they stupid!!??? SC4 is a funny game but i hate that they nerfed alot of characters! WTF!!
The only problem I have with online is I can’t fight one of my friends on it. she lives in the same area as me, not too far, like a 2hr and 30min walk. Every time we get ready to start it either disconnects quickly or cuts midway or at the end before the winner is announced. This only happens between me and her and everyone else is crystal clear. Does anybody have any idea on why it does this?
Have her test her PS3 connection test, see if NAT says Type 1, 2 or 3
I agree with u. I mean, when i search players an sc4 the list isn even full. i guess many people hated sc4’s online mode. :/.
